Collaboration Tools


The following Collaboration tools are available:

  • Edit HTML Elements
  • Take a screenshot
  • Record a Video Clip

The Activity Timeline#

The Activity Timeline lets you track and discuss with your team the action items that have been created for the current Livecycle environment.

  • To view the Activity Timeline with all current work items, click on the View Work Items icon in the collaboration toolbar. The Activity Timeline appears at the left side of the window.

  • To create a new work item from one of the activities:

    • Locate the activity and click Add Work Item.
    • Add a description of the action item and optionally write a comment.
    • Click Submit Changes. The work item is created and submitted.

CSS Editing Tool#

The CSS Editing tool lets you modify any HTML element, and see how it would look and feel to your users after the change. After selecting an element, you can make changes and discuss them with your team in the Activity Timeline.

  • To edit an HTML element, click the Edit HTML Elements icon in the collaboration toolbar.

Element Editor

  • The Element Editor appears on top of the playground and when you select an element to edit, that element is highlighted.
  • Make the changes you want to, then click View Pending Changes to send the changes to the Activity Timeline.

  • To revert back to the original, click Revert.

Snipping Tool#

The Snipping tool lets you take a screenshot of any section of the live product and draw on it to add further context.

  • To take a screenshot, click the Take a Screenshot icon on the collaboration toolbar.
  • Click and drag the mouse to select the area to snip. The area is highlighted and the rest of the production side is put in shadow.

  • You can now select a color from the screen snipping toolbar that appears, and draw on the selected area of the screen.
  • When you finish drawing, click the green checkmark on the right of the toolbar to finish taking the screenshot.
  • Alternately, click the red X on the left of the toolbar to cancel the selection and go out of the snipping tool.

Video Clip Tool#

The video clip tool lets you take a video of the application screen including a mouse trail. This can be helpful for recording bugs in user workflows or other issues related to the user experience.

  • To take a video, click the Record a video clip icon on the collaboration toolbar.

  • The recording starts immediately and captures everything you do in the application screen.
  • To end the recording, click the Record a video clip icon again. The recording ends and can be seen in the Activity timeline, where you can then view the video clip and add it as a work item if needed.
